What is a Valve?

A valve is a device that regulates the flow of liquids (hydraulic valve) or gases (pneumatic valve) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing a pipe opening. There are several types of valves that Predator Systems, Inc. designs and manufactures. Some are manually regulated while others are driven by actuators that respond to pressure, flow, or by an electrical signal.

PSI Valves

Advantages of PSI Valves

Predator Systems, Inc. designs and manufactures various hydraulic and pneumatic valves. Among the numeroous advantages that PSI offer, herre are some of the major points:

1.) Optimized high-performance designs allow handling of very high pressure or flow with minimal weight penalty.

2.) PSI manufactures valves made from many different materials including stainless steel, aluminum, and various other alloys offering models optimized for weight, strength, minimal corrosion, or other factors.

3.) Many control options are available including Smart technology which allows a microcontroller to control the valve. For example, PSI offers several models of the Smart Manifold that are or can be programmed to control valve(s) according to the operating conditions being monitored. It can be used locally when fitted with the display/keypad option or remote controlled digitally using a standard data transmission (i.e., RS-232C serial or ethernet).

Manual/Automatic PSI Valves

Some Predator Systems, Inc. valves are designed to be controlled automatically OR manually. The valve shown below is typically driven by an electrical signal. however, it also incorporates a manual override allowing the valve to be actuated manually.
